The <Caption> Tag Attributes Remover is a free, browser-based tool that instantly strips unwanted or deprecated attributes like class, id, style, and align from HTML <caption> tags inside tables.
Paste your <caption> tag below, specify the attributes to remove, and click Remove.
Whether you re cleaning legacy code, removing obsolete HTML4 attributes, or preparing table markup for HTML5 validation, this tool delivers clean, standard-compliant output in a single click. Simply paste your HTML, choose the attributes to remove, and click "Remove Attributes." The tool safely parses your code and never touches the caption text itself - only the attributes on the opening tag. The deprecated align attribute (replaced by CSS caption-side) is included in the default remove list. Copy the cleaned result with one click. No installation, no signup, no server upload - everything runs locally in your browser for full privacy. Works on all modern browsers, offline-ready. Perfect for web developers, WordPress users, and content editors who need fast, reliable HTML cleanup.
How to Use This Tool?
Step 1: Open & Paste.
Save the code as caption-remover.html, double-click to open in any browser, and paste your HTML containing <caption> tags into the "Input HTML" box. Example:
<table><caption class="tbl-title" id="cap1" style="color:red" align="top">Monthly Sales Report</caption><tr><td>Data</td></tr></table>
Step 2: Set Remove & Preserve.
In "Attributes to remove," enter names separated by commas (default: class, id, style, align). Use * to remove all. In "Preserve," list attributes to keep (e.g., role, aria-label). Note: align is deprecated in HTML5 - use CSS caption-side instead.

Press the button. Cleaned HTML appears in "Output HTML" with a green success message:
<table><caption>Monthly Sales Report</caption><tr><td>Data</td></tr></table>
Step 4: Copy & Reset.
Click Copy - it turns green with "Copied!" and the clean code is on your clipboard. Click ✕ Clear anytime to reset all fields.
